There are a variety of factors that contribute to causing non-fatal and fatal motor vehicle accidents. In the United States, distracted driving, drunk driving, and speeding are the most common. Inclement weather can also contribute to or further exacerbate these and other types of accidents.

The Effects of Aggressive Driving

Aggressive driving has been determined to be a contributing factor with a large percentage of non-fatal and fatal traffic accidents. The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, for example, reported that 66% of fatal traffic accidents were the result of aggressive driving. Furthermore, according to a 2015 report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were 35,092 fatalities that resulted from motorcycle crashes. It is highly likely that many of these crashes were the result of the motorcyclist or another vehicle driver being engaged in aggressive driving.
